WAW (wave after wave) Handplanes is a surf brand that is committed to giving back.
Founded by Rikki Gilbey and based in Sydney, Australia, they make their handplanes out of sustainable, recycled and reclaimed materials so that you can enjoy getting barrelled without leaving a trace. They also host super popular Sydney-based workshops, run by their founder and shaper Rikki. Click to here to find out more.
WAW was born after one inspirational bodysurfing session in 2014 and is continuing to grow into one of Australia greats. They are committed to using sustainable plantation and reclaimed construction timbers, as well as recycled wetsuits for thier adjustable hand straps.
To date WAW handplanes has recycled more than 250kg of wetsuits previously destined for landfill.
For WAW timber is not only an environmental choice, they strongly believe it also creates the best performing handplanes. Neutrally buoyant and long lasting, they pride themselves on a product for life, which is why all their handplanes come with the WAWRRIORS Warranty
HANDPLANES FOR THE PLANET!
To replace the timber they use and to reduce their carbon footprint as a business, they also plant one tree through the Carbon Neutral Charity Fund for every Handplane they sell. #OneHandplaneOneTree.
